It was really exciting to send a postcard to a foreign friend. I had heard the website from my friend before, but had no chance to try it. Before I received the address, l really expected it a lot because I didn't know which country I would send postcard to. Who I had to send postcard to was a woman from Germany called Simona. Her picture was a dog so I didn't know how she looked. She seemed to take part in Postcrossing for a long time. She had sent more than 600 postcards!

I went to 金玉堂 with my friend the day after I received the address. I seldom wrote postcards to others. There were many different postcards. Simona said she would be happy if I set a picture postcard of my city or country. I found some about Taiwan but there were no card about Yilan. So I chose cards that showed the shape of Taiwan. There were many characters of Taiwanese famous food on the one I wrote to Simona. I introduced pearl milk tea, one of my favorite food, to her. I used simple words to introduced myself and Taiwan, and also wrote Chinese to show her our culture. It was too small to write both har address and all I wanted to say to her on the same card, so I used two postcards. One was usual and the other one was a postcardwhich can be used as an envelopeas well. There were a cute yellow duck that was famous around the world on it.

Someone said using email was more convenient than sending postcards. As for me, I would like to receive a card written by hand. The words we wrote could give others  warmth. I hoped my postcard could impress Simona and she could feel my sincereness.
